Helping Hands & Wagging Tails: Spay & Neuter Certificate Sale

At the Raton Humane Society, we know that every act of care ripples out to touch countless lives — both human and animal. One of the most important ways we can all help our furry friends is by ensuring they’re spayed or neutered. This not only keeps pets healthier but helps control the number of stray animals in our community.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be offering low-cost spay and neuter certificates this summer to make this vital service more affordable for local families.

Here’s what you need to know:

✅ When & Where:

We will be selling 20 certificates (10 for dogs and 10 for cats) on a first come, first served basis.

• Date: July 9, 2025
• Time: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
• Location: Mesa Pharmacy, Raton, NM

✅ Cost:

• $80 per dog certificate
• $60 per cat certificate
• CASH OR MONEY ORDER, NO PERSONAL CHECKS

✅ Important Details:

• Limit two (2) certificates per family
• Purchasers must be residents of Raton or Colfax County and will need to show valid ID at the time of purchase
• Certificates will be sold first come, first served — so please come early if you can!

We understand that caring for pets can be expensive, which is why we’re working hard to bridge the gap until additional funding becomes available. Raton Humane Society has applied for the State Low Income Spay/Neuter grant monies. The application deadline is July 17, and funds will be distributed in September. We hope our limited certificate sales will help local families until the grant monies are received.

By spaying and neutering our beloved companions, we take a big step toward fewer homeless animals, healthier pets, and a more compassionate community.
