Zion is a neutered male whose story could have gone very differently.
He originally came in as a dog bite case, but after careful evaluation, it was discovered that he was living with a painful abscess in his jaw. The injury was likely caused by being kicked or struck with a blunt object. Once the abscess was treated and his pain was relieved, everything changed.
Without that constant discomfort, Zion’s true personality began to shine. He is affectionate, people-loving, and eager for connection. He enjoys attention and thrives on human companionship.
Because of his past experiences, Zion needs to be the only pet in the household. In a calm, stable home where he doesn’t have to compete or defend himself, he will flourish as a loyal and devoted companion.
Zion has already endured more than he should have. Now he’s ready for a fresh start filled with kindness and security.
If you’re looking for a resilient, people-focused dog who just wants to belong, come meet Zion at the Raton Animal Shelter.
